Why do you want to be a Scanner?: I want to be a scanner as I've never had the whitelist before, and I think it would be an incredibly interesting RP route to take.
What experience, if any, do you have as a scanner?: As I said in the 'why do you want to be a Scanner' question, I have had no experience, other than being the person on the receiving end of their blinding camera.
Why can you be trusted as one?: You can trust me as I think I've shown that I can be trusted with any whitelist, given that I have not abused any powers given to me through MPF, Headcrab or Class 2 admin.
If you are attacked what do you do?: If I was attacked by a Scanner, I would want to update any available units and blind my attacker, so to do this I would take pictures repeatedly to stop them from attacking at me for a short time, and then back away to ensure I don't get too damaged. However, if I was critically damaged, I would most likely try to deal some damage before death by attempting to collide with them, as they do in Half-Life 2.
What is dispatch?: Dispatch serves as the Union equivalent of a police dispatcher, calling attention to different situations and problems. It is an AI with a female voice, and speaks not only from the nexus, but through a Scanner unit's radio, as Scanners themselves cannot speak at all.
How does Dispatch work?: Dispatch works by using a unit's visor HUD or radio to alert them to activity in the city, whether it be a suspiciously large group of citizens walking to a secluded area, or a simple audio violation. As I said before, Dispatch can also speak through a Scanner's radio, which acts as the Scanner's voice as they do not have a way to talk.
If you see a mugging what do you do?: If I saw a mugging as a Scanner, I would use Dispatch to alert the attacker of his violation of Union law, then take multiple pictures of the victim, the attacker, and the surrounding area, to give units an idea of where it took place. I would then proceed to follow the attacker to his destination, taking pictures as I went, so the units could give chase and catch up to the attacker, before promptly confronting him.
Do you know ALL - Codes, Conduct, Verdict codes, Radio Codes, Violations, Rules perfectly in the MPF/OTA and Citizens?
Well, I can't really say yes to that, and nor could anybody, really. You'd need to have the best memory in the universe to do that. Fortunately, I remember most of the basic, most commonly used ones, but I have the less used ones written down for reference.
Explain what a Scanner is: A Scanner is a large, floating drone-like device, developed by the Union as a sort of mobile surveillance camera. They float around, scanning the area for crimes and the like ( Hence their name ) and inform the MPF of any crimes going on in the city, so that no crime goes unpunished within the city. They have armoured plates at their front, a single lens for an eye, and a camera atop their body, which can temporarily blind whoever was captured in the picture.
Write a 12 line minimum RP example as a scanner:
*MPF-SCN.58342 hovers around near a group of citizens, inspecting the scene*
Leanne Wright whispers: Hey, you better mind what you're sayin', there's one of those scanners that the CP's use right there.'
*Leanne Wright tilts her head in the direction of the scanner unit*
John Yeoman whispers: So, yeah, in there, they got a full armo- Argh... Let's head somewhere more private, shall we?
*John Yeoman ushers for the rest of the group of five to follow him to another district.
*MPF-SCN.58342 follows the suspicious group to housing block no. 3
*The group enter the building, while the Scanner waits on the outside, listening to their conversation as best it can.
John Yeoman says: Alright, I think we're away from the little bugger, so I'll stop whispering. Anyway, in their base down in the sewers, they got a fully stacked armoury, complete with weapons, ammo... You name it, it'll be there.
George Matthews says: I heard you've got some undercover units in your little group.
Leanne Wright says: Yeah, we do, but I'd say it's hardly going to be little for much longer, with you three being our newest members.
Hannah McGarr says: Haha, I guess it won't. Say, do the grates on the roads open? Because that would be a pretty easy way into the sewers if nobody was watching.
*Leanne Wright nods to Hannah, and nods to John, as if saying 'Let's end this conversation for now.'*
John Yeoman: Okay, I think we've covered everything about our group, we'll introduce you later, but for now, we should stay here a while, then we'll split up.
*MPF-SCN.58342 gets to a window, taking a picture of the group, before hovering back and taking a picture of the building, sending them to any available units.
MPF-SCN.58342 radios in: Group of five 10-91D's within this building, District 2, conversing about an anti-citizen group two of the citizens are recruiting them into.
*MPF-SCN.58342 hovers away, to the entrance of District 2, before the group leaves the building.
Write a description you would use for your scanner: About 50cm in length | Shield plating on the front | Lens acting as an eye | Camera on top of the body | Multiple parts and components of Union origin | Built in radio |
